Introducing fresh talent...

This post is about some of the most colourful and creative people on the new club-kid scene. There is some fresh new talent in London and we ought to give them some credit and encourage them to continue to create, inspire and most of all, visually challenge one another.

 My look is inspired by Amanda Lear and my nan. I love dressing up because I'm beautiful. When I was little I wanted to be a gardener .....and I turned out to be a clown. My biggest achievement to date is Running my clubnight Ace of Clubs and The Glorified Pound Shop over LFW. My favourite thing in the world is Angel Rose. I hate sharing my duvet. I love being with my friends

My biggest achievement to date is performing at Eat Your Heart Out and starting my own club night: Ace of Clubs

My favourite thing in the world is real fur, fake diamonds and VODKA. I hate being late. I love being in charge

My biggest achievement to date is not giving up....My favourite thing in the world is my friends, and a picture of a horse my mother painted aged 8.

Name and Age: Jonathan Bestley, 19

I love dressing up because its fun and a creative outlet for the stuff that goes on in my head. When I was little I wanted to be everything from a nurse (I liked the outfit) to a wizard to a astronaut to a teacher. I still don't really know what I want to do when I grow up. I turned out to be nothing like anyone expected. I used to keep my head down, be a bit antisocial and generally didn't make an effort on what I looked like or wore. My biggest achievement to date is having fun dressing up and making other people smile cos of some of my outfits. I hate being stuck at one shape/ size. I wish I could grow and shrink and change my appearance at will.  I love being talked to and listening to what people have to say

London Fashion Week starts here!

So, it's LFW and once again the party scene is bombarded with events and do's that are not to be missed. If you're wondering where the London club kids are to be found these days, I can reveal that the launch of the new collection by Jean Pierre Braganza whose party is due tonight at Jalouse, is a definite must-do event. There's been a good relationship between JPBraganza and the club-kids of London ever since his St Martin days and it is guaranteed that his party will be packed with colourful characters. As Daniel Lismore has been tweeting aggressively over the last week: Dress Up Dress Up Dress up... and so they will. Tonight.
The after party (as there always has to be at least one) is scheduled at Concrete (former Tea Bar) which is the home of the relatively new club night "Haute".

Launched last November with a smashing performance by my dearest friends "Pandering and the Golddiggers" (or the Panderers for short), Haute is the brainchild of London socialite Munroe Bergdorf who's quickly establishing herself as the new diva-about-town/DJ/club-kid.
The party tonight promises to be massive.

What Is A Club Kid?

Since I started taking photographs of Club Kids, many people were asking me : "Club Kids? What is that?"


So, what is a club kid? This blog aims at throwing some light on the subject and possibly provide an angle to what and who are the club kids.

First, before we start talking about the London club kids today, we ought to start with the original club kids of 80s New York. Wild and proud, outrageous and astonishingly courageous, these were the club kids - 80s style.
